Commissions

When undertaking a commission Karen likes to spend as much time as possible with her subject, using her cameras as sketchbooks, talking with her clients about them, making notes and achieving a rapport with her subject in order to convey their personality and character as well as an accurate physical representation.

Her clients enjoy the experience of this photo session and are able to discuss all the aspects of the painting with her and decide the best way to portray their beloved animal.

Also, if the painting is a gift for someone they might enjoy being involved in the whole process so ask Karen about Gift Vouchers, these can be given on the special day and an appointment made for the photo session on a convenient date.

Karen sends her client full size sketches of the ideas for the paintings to consider and approve before commencing to paint.

If the animal has gone and you only have your own, or professional photos of your animal, Karen can work successfully from them if they are good quality, she needs as many as possible preferably with negatives however, if she feels she cannot use them she will decline the commission.

If you would like to enquire about a commission with Karen please contact her as soon as possible, initially by email is best, to discuss availability and timing, remember your horse probably looks at its best in summer coat and an oil painting will take several months to dry!

A quotation will be given to include travelling, photography, framing and delivery.
